The editor would like to make explaination for the confused state of affairs regarding your magazine, the VOICE of the Tennessee Walking Horse. Briefly . . . I have sold the entire operation to a newly formed publishing company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their pur chase of the magazine at this time was at my insistence and for my conveni ence and their efforts to make the September “Parade of Champions” edition a good one, PLUS all the other problems involving new subscribtions, renewals, advertising and a multitude of correspondence, has naturally made this issue later getting to you. Their aim is to have your magazine in your hands not later than the 20th of every month, and they will make every ef fort to do so. There will be a complete story on this transaction in the October issue. Attendance Records Collapse The greatest Celebration of all the years — plus perfect weather condi tions for seven nights — brought the downfall of all attendance records every night. Paid admissions (not counting the hundreds present for various duties and thus not going through the turnstiles) were reported as follows to make the Celebration continue “one of the greatest horse shows on earth”: 1962 1963 Sunday 5,570 Monday 6,343 7,505 Tuesday 7,566 7,669 W ednesday 8,196 9,380 Thursday 10,559 11,951 Friday 11,671 14,071 Saturday 15,959 18,244 TOTALS 60,324 74,390
