I Can Dream Can 11 ?

This question is suggested by a letter from Jeanne Launius , S . Gifford R . Box -106 , A , Veto Beach , Fla . Here is her delightful letter for all to enjoy : When 1 married my husband , Bill ,
-1 years ago I acquired among other things a Tennessee Walking Horse named " Dan ". As the story goes , Bill bought Dan as a 7 yr old from a Dr . Sample in Ft . Pierce , Fla . ( Dan is now 14 .) Dr . Sample had bought several registered TWH mares from Tenn ., none of which were supposed to be in foal . Several months later along comes Dan .
A letter to the farm from which they were bought only added to the mystery as those folks simply did not know to whom the mare was bred . But as they had only registered stock we know the colt was purebred .
The colt was turned out to pasture after being gelded and was not broken to ride until Bill bought him . He was and still is a magnificent beautiful animal .
Dan is about 16 hands , shiny black , perfect white star , long flowing mane and tail , 3 white stockings , and a gait that is as animated as any show horse around . Even though his tail was never cut , he holds it straight up in the air when he feels frisky .
We , in our wildest dreams , imagine him to be a long lost son of the immortal Midnight Sun ! Even if he ’ s not , we still have fun with him as he is game for our every adventure , from herding our cattle to going swimming at the beach , from mothering baby calves to heading the Grand Parade when our Riding Club goes a-marching . Someday J hope to have enough time to really investigate his past .
At Christmas time Bill ’ s Uncle brought me from Atlanta — you guessed it — a beautiful Blue Roan Walking Horse . 1 am training him for show .
We certainly would like to attend the Celebration sometime . We saw the Walking Horse Show here in Orlando and were thrilled when our favorite , “ Triple Threat " won .
Thank you for letting me bend your ear . Keep up the good work on your magazine .
