Las Vegas Walker Lovers Ask For Ideas On Horse Promotion There

Voice Readers , we need your help ! Please help suggest ways Ted Vesley and Nadine Vesley , 1729 E . Charleston , Las Vegas , Nevada , can “ further promote the Tennessee Walking Horse in their part of the country .”
They operate the Ted Vesely Music Co . and Conservatory , sell guitars , pianos , organs , instruments and offer “ finest professional teaching .”
Here ’ s what Nadine said in sending an order for the Biography to be given to the local library :
“ We would like to add our congratulations and thanks to you for bringing into being The Voice of
the Tennessee Walking Horse . It is WONDERFUL — and so are you and Mrs . Green .
" We are the proud and loving owners of 2 registered pleasure Walking Horses : a gelding and a beautiful mare who would make a fine broodmare . The problem is that there are no Walking Horse stallions within hundreds of miles . We are doing our best to further interest an appreciation of the breed .
" In February we opened our own business and ever )’ copy of the Voice of the Tennessee Walking Horse is displayed on the coffee table here in the store . We talk Walking Horse every chance we get . One of our big dreams is to be able to attend the National Celebration .
“ One of our local newspapers prints a Sunday column called ’ Hoofbeats .’ I called the writer of this column and asked her to do an article about Walking Horses ; also told her about the Voice and your book . Just a few minutes ago , since this letter was begun , some people came in the store . Somehow , the conversation got around to Walking Horses !
“ They have a friend back in their home state who has a Walking Horse which she shows , so they took your name and address to send her in case she doesn ’ t already know about the magazine .
" Again , thank you so very much , Mr . and Mrs . Green , for all you have done for the marvelous Tennessee Walking Horse and all those who love him . We love you !"
( Editor ' s Note , Nadine , here you are going to get me into trouble again because 1 answer all my love letters with public love letters in return . We love you . I never thought there would come a time that a resident of Las V ega- Ncv ., would ask me how to promote anything in that promoting town . So 1 am asking Voice readers to write to you with suggestions . But your letter gives nte an idea . I will prepare a mimeographed news story that will be sent to you — telling in general about the Tennessee Walking Horse and written in newspaper style . You can give this story to the Hoofbeats columnist and she will have helpful material to comment on the Tennessee Walking Horse . This service is available for any Voice reader wishing to submit information to a newspaper . Later on I will send to you some promotional material that will have the June issue Page 5 story about Mary Frances and myself on one side and a page of advertising on the reverse side . You can give that to any callers in your store who are interested . Thus we will have two ways to " biting the folks with the Walking Horse bug ." Thanks much for everything . BAG & MFC .)
All Right To Lend ?
Irene ( Mrs . G . E .) Erickson , Rt . 7 , Box 18 , Union Gap , Washington , likes her Voice but " loaned it out " and hopes that is all right . Our answer is “ surely , our Lady Friend . The Voice yearns for circulation in every way , and by that we mean the Voice wants to be read either on loan or subscription . We believe we have something to say , and the more listeners the better .” BAG
