Green - Edited Training Book Will Not Be Published
The training book originally planned to be edited by Editor Ben A . Green will not be published , it was announced early in November . The book was to be entitled Trainer Steve Hill and the Tennessee Walking Horse .
Green said his Doctor had advised him to call off plans for the book as his health condition does not permit him to complete it .
He said the S5 pre-payments received by him hat e been returned to purchasers . " 1 deeply appreciate the cooperation and consideration of all , and greatly regret the book cannot be completed ,” Green said .
" 1 also especially appreciate the willingness of Steve Hill to cooperate with me in this undertaking and am sorry it cannot be completed .”
Any pre-payment purchasers who have not received their checks are requested to notify Green .

THE CHILD ’ S WORLD OF THE TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE
PATTI ’ S SOUVENIR Patti Curley , age 10 , daughter of Mr . and Mrs . John B . Curley , Route 5 , Fi ’ anklin , Tenn ., owns a Tennessee Walking Pony named Patti ’ s Souvenir . She is pictured on another horse , a grandson of midnight Sun , but later she will ride her own pony in show competition . At present this pony , age 5 , is ridden by an older juvenile .
Her pony is the son of Go Boy ’ s Souvenir , a famous sire , and also of Go Boy ’ s Serenade , a famous dam . This pony is the full brother of Souvenir ’ s King — destined to become a great sire in California .
We visited Patti for a brief interview about her pony . She said :
“ What we really own is a Walking Pony — not exactly a horse ( horses under 58 inches in heighth are regarded as ponies regardless of age ). Bobby Burris has been showing him some for me but my father has been teaching me to ride a Walking Horse . I ’ ve always wanted to ride one but I have never gotten around to it . Now I have one and have changed his name to Patti ’ s Souvenir . I am very grateful and proud and thank my parents for this .
“ I have always ridden Shetland Ponies . My Shetland Pony got foundered two months ago and I gave him to this man who has a little boy who couldn ’ t ride much . We decided he would be a nice little pony just to walk around with . “ I love my Walking Pony because he ’ s really nice . Although he is still a little too much for me to show .
