Q : How did you become a columnist for Noir di Monde ? What was it like ?
A : It ' s a funny story , I was doing an audition to become a columnist for a sport show . The producer thought that I was not exactly what they were looking for , so he gave me the information of the main host of " Noir di Monde ": Harry Delva . I met him and he hired me . I did the show for 3 years until I moved for Vancouver .
Q : Sabine , you were a Freelance researcher for National Radio and television Stations – Tell us how did you get involved in this and what did it entail ?
A : I have a degree in Communication and Journalism and did a one year internship by working as a journalist at a place called Promedia . When I graduated , I was lucky enough to have some freelance work as a radio host and as a researcher because of the contacts I made at Promedia .
Q : You started My Destiny Productions as a vehicle to produce “ 13 Witches ”. What was your inspiration behind 13 Witches ? How did your idea evolve and come to production ?
A : I created My Destiny Production to produce 13 Witches . The story behind 13 Witches is funny ,
A few years before I created 13 Witches I had an audition for a show called Blood Tied ... It was a guest-star role . The role required a black French woman . She was supposed to be able to speak French and Creole and was supposed to be a voodoo priestess . I was so proud of my audition , but unfortunately I did not get the part .
So I wrote a little scene as a Voodoo Queen and I posted it on YouTube ..... I wrote it in French and in English . I was so surprised by the results , people actually BELIEVED I was a VOODOO Queen . It was crazy . The French Version went viral . People were even asking me to take care of their problems . I didn ’ t know how to react and I was getting frustrated . Then I decided to make the best of it and write a story where I would be a witch and use the momentum I had with the Voodoo Queen to market 13 Witches .
Author ’ s note : I did watch the videos on YouTube and I can see why people believed Sabine was a Voodoo Queen , it ’ s a very convincing performance .
Q : What sort of struggles did you face producing 13 Witches ?
A : So , So Many Struggles ! First of all , shooting with girlfriends is not always the best choice . Secondly , the first director left me after the first day because she realized that the project was too big .
Third , I was also working 6 days a week at the same time 13 Witches was being filmed and produced , so I was so extremely tired . It was hard to concentrate . Fourth , I had to do everything from wardrobe , to directing , to scheduling , to acting , to directing , to solving conflict between actors , to regularly doing the marketing to create a momentum 5-shootings with 38 actors in 3 month while I am working full time .
