It’s been a banner year for Wichita Falls Wildcat Max Reisinger (NDCS Class ’14).

Reisinger, who in his second year with the team has reached new high-water marks in goals (16), assists (15) and points (29), is really hitting his stride as the regular season draws to a close and the playoffs loom just ahead.

“Max has really elevated his level of play over the past few months,” said Wildcats Head Coach John LaFontaine after Reisinger notched his second Easton Divisional Star of the Week award this season in February. “He has worked hard all year to put himself in a position to be a key player for our team."

Reisinger isn’t just thriving with his current North American Hockey League team. The Austrian-born winger was also selected to represent his country at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships. He described the honor as a great experience, one that also further honed his skill sets to benefit the Wildcats organization.

A recent graduate of Notre Dame Catholic School, Reisinger said he had fond memories of the support he received from the small-school community.

“It was the thoughtfulness and support of the staff and all the teachers. They made it easy for me to focus on hockey, but still get my schoolwork done the best possible way. Whenever I needed help, they did not hesitate.”

Reisinger said he also made a lot of friends in his short time at NDCS, his small-class size teaching him the importance of sticking together and being there for one another. That experience is invaluable, he said.

“You have to appreciate the time you’re able to spend in high school with your friends. The school years go by so fast and before you know it, it’s over. You realize later that there is nothing better than being able to spend almost every day with your friends.”
