A year or two down the line after exploring and experiencing new things my passion
for photography returned along with the determination that I will become a
professional photographer, but I still had not finalised what genre I would like to
pursue.
Later on whilst considering all possibilities and avenues to head down, it all naturally
fell into place that I have my qualification in landscape architecture and interests in
architecture and design. Therefore up to this date I have been pursuing the genre of
architectural and interior photography, but also experimenting to see if I can
diversify my skills to incorporate the knowledge and interest I already have with
landscape architecture.
The work that I am interested in creating at this moment in time is photographing
hotels around North Wales, the main two being Ruthin Castle and Chateau Rhianfa
which I’ve been photographing at dusk to create amazing blues and purples in the
sky, but also using external flashes to incorporate more colour and detail in the
foregrounds.
I am also gaining knowledge and experience in interior photography so that I can
create bodies of work which include the interiors and exteriors of buildings of
interest. I am really interested in the 50’s and 60’s style of art, architecture and
design therefore I am beginning to create images of locations and subjects in this
style.
