ABANDONED FOOTWEAR

It ’ s random but I see abandoned footwear a lot . I think there ’ s something poetic about seeing an abandoned shoe , pairs of shoes or any kind of footwear really . It makes you think who has left them there ? I ' m not just talking about old tatty ones , I mean ones that are fashionable and trendy . What makes it strange , shoes are usually sturdy and well constructed more than most other items of clothing with laces or straps . Probably the most common abandoned footwear are the ones you see with the laces tied together hanging on a power line or something similar . Its true that there is a form of art known as ‘ object trove ’ that means ‘ found object ’ and this is described online as art created from undisguised but often modified objects or products that are not normally considered art , often because they already have a non art function . With further research , artists as far back as 1917 were using everyday objects as art and the earliest of them was Marcel Duchamp with his controversial ‘ Fountain ’ piece but he coined his own term for it called ready-mades and it ’ s a type of art people are still producing today .
