Taste of Morgan Hill
In Historic Downtown Morgan
Hill (Monterey Street between
Dunne & Main), sponsored by
the Morgan Hill Chamber of
Commerce. The Taste is a fun,
free, family-oriented festival. It
features local wines and craft
beers, a kid’s zone, an array of
vendors and entertainment on
the main stage and throughout
the event. A Classic & Custom
Car Show featuring a wide vari-
ety of awesome cars, from hot
rods to classic fi re engines are
on hand and again there will be
an amazing quilt show in the

Gavilan Jazz Festival
Held in the Gavilan College
Theatre in Gilroy at 2 pm
featuring four different
ensembles. The ensembles
will include the Gilroy High
School Jazz Band, the San Jose
State University Latin Jazz
Band, the Dahveed Behroozi
Quartet and also Nate Pruitt’s
Primary Colors. Tickets can

for an estimated $30,000 to
help fund their philanthropic
projects or programs. Two
categories will be considered:
Community Grants (for tangible
items that provide enduring
benefi t to many) and Hearts
of Rotary which are limited to
501©3 nonprofi t organizations
(for program operating expens-
es such as staffi ng, facility
expenses and non-tangible

A Day In The Country
Celebrating its 28th year, this
year’s theme “Run for the
Roses,” gives a nod to the
colorful Kentucky Derby. Held
in the Gilroy Gardens Event
Pavilion. A silent auction, wine
tasting, a Southern-themed
dinner and live auction are
highlights of the evening —
along with complimentary mint
juleps. This year’s Getaway
Raffl e is to Lexington, Kentucky,
the Thoroughbred Capital of the
World, featuring a tour of Taylor
Made Farms, the home of Cali-
fornia Chrome and a VIP Tour
of Woodford Reserve Distillery.

Fall Tarantula Festival
At Coe Park, honoring some
fuzzy, friendly eight-legged
guests. The event will be held
at the headquarters camp-
ground, which has breathtaking
views across the ridges and
canyons of the back country.
Featuring home-cooked BBQ
food, leisurely nature walks
with a volunteer naturalist
and search for tarantulas, a
geocaching hike, and live music
by a jug band of musical Coe
Park volunteers and friends. Or
