SCI-FI
The UCC Sci-Fi , Anime , Horror and Fantasy society in many ways is just what it sounds like . We watch all kinds of things from said genres and we have a bit of banter doing it ! We ’ re a long running social society and we host at least two events a week . The events are largely screenings interspersed with panels and collaborations with other societies to offer diversity in what we do . We also organize convention trips through the year that have
proven to be wildly successful and a great time to get to know new people in college . We maintain a proud association with Kaizoku-Con , Sci-Fi being where the flagship anime convention of Cork was founded . So , if you want a friendly inclusive place to be the centre of your college experience , are looking to participate in the running of a society or you just want to have a bit of craic on a Monday or Wednesday , come to Sci- Fi ! Basically we ’ re nerds .

SIMPSONS
The Simpsons represents our generation . It serves a major part of our upbringing ; clever political satire , sharp wit , and all the rest . Let ’ s celebrate it - we ’ ll hold table quizzes , frequent screenings , themed social events and general get-togethers . We control the British Crown , keep the metric system down etc . etc . and we ’ ve sold monorails to Brockway , Ogdenville , and North Haverbrook , and , by gum , it put them on the map ! But all references aside , we just want to provide a lovely social atmosphere to students based around something we ’ ve all shared and grew up with , and there ’ s nothing we love more than new people to share it with . The Simpsons Society is about having craic for its own sake - without the pressures and stress that sometimes come along with college life .
