ORCHESTRA
Now entering its third year, Orchestra has established
itself as one of the fastest growing, yet easiest going,
societies on campus. We play all sorts of music: from
classical music to film music, and even music from
computer games! Last year saw the Orchestra perform
works from “The King’s Speech”, “The Lion King”,
“Up”, “The Hobbit” and “Game of Thrones”, among
other pieces, to a packed Aula Maxima. We also
participated in a concert of festive Christmas carols

held at the end of first semester last year. We hope
to do the same in the upcoming year! So whether
you’re a violinist, cellist, flautist, bassoonist, or play
any other instrument (even if it is the triangle), or you
are simply interested in the Orchestra, make sure to
check us out during Freshers’ Week, and come along
to our practice too! Looking forward to seeing you
throughout the year for some great music and mighty
craic!

PHARMACY
So we’re UCC’s Pharmacy Society. We do plenty of exciting
things throughout the year and here’s the proof! Our Social
events aim to get people together, make friends and of course
let your hair down after a stressful week (or two). The big
events include the welcome back parties, a winter social,
and an annual pharmacy ball. We have a tournament for the
perpetual “Pharmacy Cup”. Conferences, debates and talks
are also organised for students interested in Pharmacy and the
Pharmaceutical Industry. We raise tons of money for charity
throughout the year organising Cake Sales, Raffles and the
likes. Of course it’s not all about the money,

we also volunteer our time to the charities we support. There are
so many reasons to join the Pharmacy society. The Pharmacy
society is a great place to meet new people, to become
integrated with your fellow students and year groups. It provides
a great platform for truly enjoying your university and course
experience, and it offers you the chance of improving your
knowledge of the world of Pharmacy through a medium that is
free from books. So whether you’re in pharmacy or not we want
to hear from you and join. Make sure to talk to us on Societies
Day/ Freshers fest/ College in general and we’ll try our best not
to disappoint you!
