HORSE RACING The UCC Horse Racing Society is a relatively new society in UCC. It is a society that strives to bring people together with an interest in horse racing. The society runs various outings throughout the year to racecourses, studs and to horse trainers yards. Everyone is welcome to attend the horse racing meetings, from amateurs to well experienced horse racing individuals. Last year, the society visited both the Irish National Stud and the world renowned Coolmore Stud. Students also went racing in Fairyhouse in November [email protected] and to Gowran Park in Kilkenny for the Thyestes Chase. The society has attended the Thyestes chase for the last 3 years. The Cork Student Raceday was held in Mallow racecourse in March. We encourage all incoming students and students in later years to attend our meetings, get to know the committee and to learn and experience a sport that Ireland as a country excels at. All you need is an eagerness to learn about a thrilling and exciting sport with the benefit of meeting friends and engaging in social outings!
