HISTORICAL
Historical Society is one of the oldest Societies on campus . Its great for historical and non- historical students alike , with events running throughout the year . Last year we had some great events and this year will be even better , with weekly debates and talks covering a range of historical topics , fun historical events each month and visiting guest speakers . We will also this year be relaunching the historical Journal , and organizing tours around cork city and county .
So whether you ’ re a history student or just love history , get in contact with us via our Facebook page or by email , to join or to keep up to date with all the great historical events lined up for this year . And if you have an event you would like to see us do or a topic you would like to see happen , contact us about this also . So come to our stand on societies day to meet the committee and get the load down on the year to come .

HOPE FOUNDATION
The Hope Foundation Society was set up to support the work of the Hope Foundation Charity , helping slum children in Calcutta , India . The Hope Society is entering its 4th year since its creation and in that time the society has grown from strength to strength . We have held many exciting events that have provided enjoyment for all the committee members who helped set up and organise the events , those who participated in the events and in the process do some great work for the children of Kolkata by raising funds and awareness for all the great work the Hope Foundation Society does . One of the most exciting events the hope society held last year was a colour dash which took place during RAG week . Picture about 200 people with bags of paint throwing it at each other with nothing held back . It was great fun and provided some spectacular pictures in the process as well as getting the Hope Foundation image out there . First year students and anybody else for that matter are more than welcome to come join the society . We like to have society nights out by either having a bowling night or meeting up and having a chat !
