GAISCE The Gaisce Society provides students with a platform to take part in the Gaisce award. Whether it be in the Bronze, Silver or Gold Award, we welcome every student from the ages 15 - 25! We provide you with a PAL (Presidents Award Leader), help you chose your activities and be there to help you register and get started, as well as provide you with information throughout your activities on how you can improve, what adventure journeys you can do and for those Gold Awardees, help with your residential project and portfolio. Our society will be hosting talks from previous [email protected] awardees and have motivational speakers in, as well as collaborating with other societies which may help you to clock up your hours per week! Not only does Gaisce influence you to try out something different, but it opens you up to new opportunities and meet new people with different backgrounds. Friendships are made for life, as well as continual love and commitment for your chosen activities! Joining the Gaisce society will ensure you have stories and experiences to share for years to come, so if you’re looking for a challenge and some fun be sure to join! #GetOutAndLive UCC Gaisce Society GaisceUCC GENETICS The genetics society is for all those students with an interest, passion, and enthusiasm for one of the most exciting and emerging areas of modern biological science! Throughout the year there will be a large and varied range of engaging and insightful talks from highly regarded and esteemed guest speakers, coupled with fun social and charitable events, such as movie nights, quizzes, socials and much more. All events are accompanied by copious amounts of free pizza, [email protected] SOCIETY BIOS snacks and good clean fun. Last year, the genetics society raised hundreds of euros for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland during CF week, and with new support we hope to bring this into the thousands! The society is a must join for all incoming 1st year science students (especially geneticists!) who want to engage with their new classmates, make friends, and possibly sponge notes off older year students. All round grand bunch of lads and huns. uccgensoc uccgenetics 29
