Are you interested in Law and helping others? FLAC
society provides invaluable legal advice from trained
solicitors and barristers to students, at no cost. With
centers all around the country, FLAC is a charitable
society here to help you when you need it most. We
host mock clinics in which we train volunteers who then
supervise our clinics, which are 100% confidential.
Throughout the year, we host fundraisers for Irish centers,
hold topical talks with well-known speakers, and run

campaigns which benefit students, such as our “Know
Offence” campaign on sexual offences, or our J1 Visa
“Know Your Rights” campaign. Last year we held a
hugely successful Moot Court competition in Blackhall
Place, Dublin, with the prize of an internship with human
rights and criminal law firm, KOD Lyons! So why not
get involved with FLAC, we hope to see you at our
volunteer training and events to get some practical legal
experience while still in college!

FOODIES
We at The Foodies Society here in UCC are the official society
for Food Science, Nutritional Science, Food Marketing &
Entrepreneurship and International Development and Food
Policy and of course, any other food lovers in UCC. As a
society we have grown tremendously in the past few years
and hope to do so continuously over the next few years. As a
newly branded society, we are forever trying to think of new,
innovative and exciting events for our fellow foodies. Recently,
we are becoming well known for our famous Cork City food
crawls, as well as our annual ball.

SOCIETY BIOS
Our food crawl was another great success last year, with over
100 students joining us on a tour of Corks finest restaurants
ranging from Mexican to Italian to Chinese. We hope to
continue and expand this food crawl in the coming year. Our
annual ball has proved a phenomenal success over the past
three years, growing in size each year. Last year we held
a carnival theme ball with plenty of carnival games, and of
course food! Each year we try to be bigger and better than
the year before, so if you would like to join us in The Foodies
be sure to catch us on campus on the societies open day for a
chat and most definitely some foodie freebies!
