DRAMAT
UCC Dramat is one of UCC’s oldest societies and over its
long history has become known as the society that does
play’s. Which Dramat can see why, considering they do eight
Mainstage shows, two short play festivals and a Christmas
Panto all in one year. With all these shows taking place in
Dramat’s second home, The Granary Theatre. Dramat is for
anyone and everyone interested in theatre, be it either in
acting, in design or simply watching theatre unfold on stage,
all are welcome. Dramat offer students a chance to take part
in plays, giving them the opportunity to lead

their own creative teams and meet others with similar
interests. We also give students the chance to develop their
skills with a series of tech and design based workshops each
year. Whether it be acting, producing, directing, writing
or creating there are parts for everyone and anyone with
multiple chances for everyone to get involved in any capacity.
We should mention that Dramat may be the society that those
plays but they do, do so much more. We also hold weekly
social events, monthly variety nights. All this is done to bring
more Drama to the lives of UCC students.
