COMEDY We are the Go-To-Guys and Gals for comedic shenanigans of the gigs, quiz hosting, comedy DVD screening and StandUp variety. UCC Comedy Society’s aim is to help develop its members stand up skills and comedic ability by workshops and gigs on and off campus. We hold events all over campus (Mock the term, Beginners gig, comedy workshops) Comedy Society not only provides entertainment but also gives the opportunity for any aspiring comedians to break onto the scene by providing gigs both on and off campus. The comedy society is great place to meet people who share a [email protected] similar interest in comedy while learning the confidence, public speaking skills and wit needed to become a comedian. In both semesters we will be holding beginners workshops where you will be taught the basics of standup comedy and developing your material over the course of the workshop. The work shop will end with a beginners gig held on campus so that you can showcase what you have learned and hopefully continue to peruse comedy. We are constantly looking for new members and new ideas in the society all are welcome to join us in this coming year. ucccomedy ucccomedysoc COMMERCE The UCC Commerce Society is Cork’s largest and most active business orientated university Society. This year we are celebrating our 86th year as a society, and we continue to grow year after year. The society hosted many exciting events this year such as the Digital Marketing Summit at which fashion blogger SoSueMe was a speaker. This event went on to win Best Weeklong Event at the annual Societies Awards. The Society endeavours to cater for the needs of students of the Business & Law Faculty and all other students in every way possible. The UCC Commerce Society has evolved from having a single focus on certain business elements to [email protected] 18 becoming UCC’s most prestigious society that hosts some of the most highly anticipated events on the UCC Calendar, most notably the Commerce Conference, now in its 35th year, which brings together some of Ireland’s top business representatives. The Society heavily embraces the academic side of college and provides support and training to ensure you get the grades you aspire to achieve.
