CHRISTIAN UNION The Christian Union (CU) is a group of students at UCC that work together to share the message of Jesus Christ on campus. Our faith is a huge part of our lives and we want to share that with our University. Our weekly meet ups usually consist of some music, a speaker answering a relevant question people have about Christianity and is followed by a social usually at a members house where we get to know each other over cookies, tea, coffee and general banter.Throughout the year we hold events such as Q&A Panels, Dessert Crawls and the annual Carol service. [email protected] We also collaborate with other societies though events such as relay for life and interfaith football. New for this year is a surfing trip and an ‘Art and Christianity’ event on campus. Look out for us on outside the library, once a week we give out free tea and coffee and we’re always up for a friendly chat. Everyone and anyone from any background is welcome to come along to any Christian Union event and can join at any point during the year. We look forward to meeting you. We work to increase awareness of what we do professionally, as well as have social events both amongst ourselves and in collaboration with other societies. Some of what we did last year included movie nights to raise money for mental health week, table quizzes, bake sales, and careers evenings. [email protected] SOCIETY BIOS Our biggest event of the year is most definitely our annual ball - last years Candyland-themed ball was our biggest and most successful yet! Other things we have done over the years include mental health campaigns, mixer nights and much more. Joining the CT society will give you a chance to do some fundraising; learn a little bit more about the role of SLTs, OTs and audiologists; do plenty of socialising, bring your own ideas to the table; meet new people, and have some fun in the meantime!
