something. So many people do nothing. Risk them hanging
up the phone on you or slamming the door on you, because
chances are that you reaching out will mean more than any-
thing,” Libby said.
Though she does caution to help in appropriate ways,
which often means from a distance at first, or interacting
with appointed gatekeepers. “Donate money. With cancer and
catastrophic illness, there are a lot of bills.”
Though the Kranzes are immensely proud of the success of
Unravel, their goal is, “To close up shop, quit and be done,”
Libby said. They look forward to the day when “pediatric cancer
is a manageable disease.” She believes it will happen in her life-
time, “but it just takes the right money in the right hands.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s legacy is making a difference for future
parents so they do not have to go through what her family has
been through. “All we have are memories,” Libby said.
And Jennifer will always be remembered. By her parents,
her siblings, her community, and the wider Unravel community
that has risen out of her loss. “She was a great big sister, a
protector and a good role model. The perfect blend of glitter
and dirt,” Libby said.
