Staff Update
Facilities Team
Mike Lassere:
Mike joined the Facilities team at the
end of July 2018. After completing
Grade 12 last year at St Mary’s College
Toowoomba, Mike commenced a
Certificate 1 in Construction with
Hutchinson’s Builders and the team
there encouraged him to apply for
the Certificate III in Landscaping and
Construction with USQ.

Mike is enjoying working with the Facilities team and the
variety of work he is experiencing from gardening in the
Japanese Garden to assisting with room locations.
Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with friends.
Jarrad Mason
Jarrad’s main passion has always been
landscaping and he was pleased to be offered the opportunity
to do a Certificate III Landscaping and Construction with the
Facilities team at USQ. Jarrad is enjoying his work at USQ and
is looking forward to continuing learning new and exciting
aspects of his apprenticeship during the next three years.
Security Stores
Sara Collins: Sara joined
the Security team at USQ in
September 2018. Rick Jackson: Rick joined the
team at USQ Campus Services
in August 2018 in the role
of
Inventory
Storeperson,
after working in warehousing
roles within the oil, gas and
water industries. Prior to this,
Rick worked as part of the
management team within a
Rick Jackson
metal fabrication company and
various leading hand and operative positions within the
agricultural industry across central New South Wales and
central and southern Queensland. Rick currently holds
qualifications in warehousing and youth work, and enjoys
playing golf, 4x4ing, and caravanning with his wife and
three dogs.
Sara has been in the security
industry for over six years and has
some wonderful experience. She
has worked in corporate security,
as well as night clubs and event
security, as well as looking after
celebrities.
Sara Collins
Prior to working in security Sara was a successful florist
winning many awards for her work, which has been seen
at Floriade in Canberra, and also on TV shows such as
“Home and Away”.
In her personal time Sara enjoys hiking and sports such
as sky diving.

Since the last newsletter in May, Campus Services has
recently farewelled four of its long standing staff:

Jarrad Mason: Jarrad joined the
Facilities Team in Toowoomba at the
end of July 2018. After completing
Grade 12 in 2012 at St Mary’s
College Toowoomba, Jarrad has
worked at A1 Fire and Safety for
four years checking fire equipment
for Toowoomba businesses including
USQ.
