saw in Lux’s face or maybe he would have turned it down a notch. But the beauty of battles is that they are pre-written. Once he bomb is armed, it cannot be shut off. We have an underdog; a man set up to lose and pad Lux’ record, and mid-Round Two, he’s dismantling him. Jon Rines: This article is called “Return of the King”. How does that make you feel? It could be looked at two ways, like you haven’t battled in a while or you’re the underdog. Did you ever feel with your potential that you are the underdog? Mook: Not in my heart, but I knew I was the underdog. I’m not stupid. I’m not going to be naive to the fact. I keep my ear to the street, so a lot of people had me losing this battle bad, but in my heart of hearts, I knew what I was going to do all along. To beat those rounds you had to be godly — on some other s**t. Like three weeks before the battle, I’m like “these rounds are vicious.” The most that could possibly be done would have been a toss-up and the judges say it was a tie. That’s what I felt like. Jon Rines: I was more shocked at your interviews, I guess because I had you the underdog and you guys are rivals going down in history. You won so easily and was so relaxed in your interviews. Mook: I mean, I don’t know what people want, me to jump around for joy? (Mook laughs) I’ve been doing this. Lux isn’t any different to me. This is God doing this. This isn’t me. I realize this is a gift that I have and I’m thankful that I’m just able to touch people with it. It’s different. The energy in a Murda Mook battle is different. The energy and the stage is different. It doesn’t feel like a typical battle. So much I put in to give the fans a different perspective. Jon Rines: So you did it. You got a victory, and easily at that. You think this increases the money aspect? Doesn’t it also affect how you choose your next opponent, like with DNA talking? Mook: Well, DNA is cool and all of that, but that doesn’t make sense for me to do that. I told him, “I respect your grind and your hustle and your tenacity, but it doesn’t make sense.” Whoever my next opponent is, they have to be worthy. I’m not in the business of making you a star or making you hot, you know what I’m saying? So I have to make sure I hold smart in the decisions I make and how I hold it up businesswise. Jon Rines: You see top tiers going for the money sometimes and take new guys and they are not into it. H
