Is it expected of a hustler to be paranoid? Are the actions stemming from this paranoia warranted, given the profession of the hustler in question? Those are the two questions I asked myself as I pondered and pondered how to write this article this, but let’s go back to the beginning. It’s early April and I’m searching the entire universe for Ms. Hustle. Disappointed in the results my search, I turn to our trusted Editorin-Chief, RZilla: Jon Rines: “Man, I can’t find Hustle, yo!” Zilla: “Man, you know where she is!” Just as my Spidey senses kicked in, I run to Unbias Debate Group, and there goes Ms. Hustle declaring to the group that she’s the “New First Lady of URL”, with what appears to be a couple of side disses to NuNu Nellz. I hop on the post, telling her to answer the phone and she hits me up. From my understanding at this point, Ms. Hustle has a lot of arguments with battle rap fans online, mostly ending in fans attacking her looks. In my opinion, Ms. Hustle is an attractive woman, body and face. But I’ve always wanted to know, why do fans come at her the way they do? Ms. Hustle: They be trying to drag me in Unbias! [sic] (Hustle laughs) Jon Rines: I noticed. What’s that about? I also couldn’t help but notice you took a shot at someone in particular? Ms. Hustle: Uh huh! Uh huh! Jon Rines: Let me guess, she has red hair? Ms. Hustle: Yes she does! Don’t be running around talkin’ about you the Princess of URL, you this for URL. You ain’t s**t for URL. You don’t even understand f**king bars. She not princess of s**t! You older than me; how you Princess of anything? [sic] For those that’ve been stuck under a rock since last fall, NuNu Nellz has become a marketing machine for URL, as she has started at Battle Rap Arena co-hosting the radio show with Norbes and Jesse Rican. I’m not sure where the animosity or beef came from, but in Nellz’ latest interview with http://www. hiphopisreal.com, she states that she doesn’t have a beef or problem with Ms. Hustle and wishes her the best. Ms. Hustle seems to have proven she is the First Lady of URL, with her being pushed to their next big event, N.O.M.E. 4, and Smack even calling her the First Lady on the BET Backroom cypher. She’s in ms. hustle MURDER SHE SPOKE the studio with Cam’ron and Kid Cupri, and it’s really hard to hear anything about female battle rap that doesn’t have her name attached. But what of Jaz the Rapper? Ms. Hustle: They tried to match Jaz with me and it didn’t work and that was my worst performance. She still couldn’t beat me, so there’s no question who the queen is anymore! I found it interesting that the night of Summer Madness 3, people tweeted that Ms. Hustle choked in the first round, but they still said she won the round. This makes the fact that URL edited out the footage of her choke work both against her in some ways, as well as work for her in others. It robbed the fans of making their own predictions; some may have still given her the round, even with the choke. Nonetheless, she did well enough to leave that night with a new road mapped out for herself. Outside of Summer Madness 3, Hustle was primarily a Queen of the Ring battle rapper, with one matchup coming from URL, versus E Hart. Queen of the Ring provides a safety net, where there will be tons of options with other highly talented artists, such as 40 B.A.R.R.S., O’fficial and C3. The move to URL is a great look, but makes fans worry about other potential match-ups. Jon Rines: You’re locked in this year with Young Gattas and Lady Luck right, but are you nervous about potential match-ups after those, with you being on URL?” 29
