I have been around to see the
smack DVD’s, Fight Klub, Lionz
Den, and of course we all see the
Global spread of battle rap, so
yeah it would be sad to see it die
out again.
Dizaster: Yeah, there was a point
when that was all there was, The
crazy part about it is that I was
already doing acapella battles even
before I found out about Smack.
What was happening is that I was
just going to parties and battling
people with or without a beat. So
I would just be dissing people.
I had so many lines in my head
and I just kept doing it acapella I
didn’t care about the beat. Then
when I did discover Smack I was
like yes acapella is where it’s at. So
it has definitely been a crazy road
to see where battling has come
from to where it is now, like it’s
starting to come full circle from
where it left off.

did the name Dizaster, come
from?
Dizaster: Kind of like the same
thing, I would go to different
parties out in Santa Barbra College
I think it was around 2001 and
2002. It was just all kinds of
college parties and rappers would
go up there, it was like hundreds
of blocks of houses open with
kegs in them. It was just like the
crazy college parties, I used to
go up there and basically wreck
every show. Rappers would be
up there and I would just take
the mic from them and take the
spotlight. Other times it would
just be awkward and I would
completely annihilate whoever was
up there. I even made one dude
cry when I was younger, when I
went up there He got so mad and
started to flip out and completely
loose it with tears in his eyes and
shit. It’s because I was dissing him
so hard in front of every one of
his friends, and his girl. Basically
people would ask me what’s your
name, and I didn’t have one. So
then people just started saying
your name should be Dizaster Bro,
you just come through and wreck
people on the mic. So I pitched
that name to a few people I knew
and I never went back, it stuck
with me.

lived up to my name so many
times. I mean look at the Arcane
battle, who else would this type
of shit happen to? I mean I come
in throwing papers , slapping
his arms, Flipping out on people
kicking boxes of papers into the

he won like I basically ruined the
