was a little over hyped on his part. People don’t bring up the fact that I had a rebuttal for everything he said, with multiple syllables, and some crazy ass shit. Novie Blendz: (interjects) See that’s what I was about to say to you, Like his 3rd was good, but I give you credit on when you came back, because you got crazy, like you snapped on him with your rebuttal. Dizaster: Yeah, because it was like “you want to talk about my father, let’s talk about your father”, and the best part about it was, that all of the stuff that I was talking about was real shit. I’m dissing him about real things that he’s talked about in his songs. I was on stage like really picking at him! When I was talking about him getting chased through a parking lot, then saying “I wasn’t running, I was just walking fast”. I’m really dissing your manhood though. All of what he was saying had nothing to do with dissing me. That’s the ending topic here he never said anything that was offensive or disrespectful to me. Like at the ending of his first round he didn’t even get to a punch line, he said something like “Rake …..and a when the Condom Break”. Do you understand, if I said that line it would of killed me, they would have murdered me if I said that line, I would’ve been crucified If I would’ve said that. But if you watch it again after I’ve talked to you, like the crowd was thirsty for materials from him, like they were actually reaching, they really wanted to react to him. Especially in that part where he was like “Palm trees Cruising by….. Gettin High, Bitches Hi”. That was his punch line. His punch line was bitches say hi to him when he comes to California. And it’s a cool stylistic punch line, when you judge it. Like I’m a real dude, I’m not a biased dude when it comes to judging, like I told you I know I lost to Cortez. In a battle if I lose or I don’t feel like I’ve won I’m going to admit it. I’m not that dude who’s going to act like he won when he lost. Like with Arsonal, I’m not going to be like him and go online and front like I didn’t get murdered if I’ve lost. Look at how Arsonal was saying stuff like “I went out to the Lou and Killed that Hit Man” (in Arsonal’s Voice). Nope! No you didn’t Arsonal Hit Man murdered you! I mean none of these guys will ever have the balls to say, you know what? I didn’t do to good in that battle. I mean, there has to be a point, I would never sit there and Lie on myself and say that I’ve won if I haven’t. I really judge it like a fan. I mean I stop watching as if it’s me, and I start criticizing my own shit. I really watch them from outside of the bubble. On the other hand, I don’t get mad if people say that Aye Verb beat me, because he had a cleaner performance than I did. Even if your material is better than your opponents, if you stumble and someone else memorizes their lines, and recite it like a song, they come out of it looking better. I mean it gives the person with the smoother performance the ability to argue that they’ve won. Yet again, it is not really about that, it’s about dissing your opponent. Battling needs to go back to its roots, you have to take something that someone has said about you flip it and slap it back at them. Back in the day if someone did that to you it was over! The moment someone said something about you, you had to rebuttal it. The chances of coming back from that were almost nothing unless you rebuttal with a rebuttal. That’s what battling was founded on. If somebody flips back what you’re saying, then they win because they were talented enough to do it and you’re not! Novie Blendz: Exactly, and that brings me to my next question, how do you feel that the culture’s going? Is there too many “Divas”, is because some people are staying away from freestyling? Dizaster: Yeah, it’s not just that , its growing in a wrong direction. I mean its good because its growing as a culture, yes. But it doesn’t always mean that its good growth. You can experience growth but in a wrong direction. In our case it’s getting watered down, and rappers imitate other rappers. I mean aren’t you sick of seeing it? This does happen a lot with the street battlers, more than other type of battlers. I mean during Grind Time days there were like a bunch of mark ass robot battlers that were like, “Whe
