Novie Blendz: That’s great, I
mean at one point I had no
idea, that the Westcoast got it
poppin on the battle scene until
I discovered both Grindtime
and AHAT. I mean Im from
New York, so I ve always been
familiar with the Eastcoast.
Danny Myers: I can Hear that
New York in your voice (lol). But
yeah the West Coast wasn’t really
known for battle leagues until
Grindtime and AHAT, but now its
really getting poppin out here. The
West man we out here!
Novie Blendz: Now with your 1st
opponent when you came back,
how do you think you did?
Danny Myers: My 1st opponent
back you know was Loui V, and
I pretty much beat him up, it
was 3 nothing, it was easy work.
After that I had ended up battling
two guys in the same night, and I
beat them up too. Then my next
opponent after that was John
John Da Don, because they felt
that they had to get somebody
for me you know(lol).I mean was
killing dudes, and I killed two
dudes within an hr so they was
like “Okay We gotta him some
tougher competition”, so they
set up the battle between me and
JJDD.
Novie Blendz: That was a good
battle too, but I wish more
battlers would face off with
someone who is nice with it
too. What I mean by that is, it
seems that some people become
complacent and end up battling
the same people. For me as a fan
I want to see someone step it up
and battle someone that’s nice
47
with it. Which brings me to my
next question, who is next on
your radar?
Danny Myers: Well I have a lot
of scheduled battles coming up;
Mr. Millz, Bossman Beevz, Im on
the Guerilla warfare card on dec
14th, I have JC & Chilla Jones
coming up, then I’m going to be
battling on king of the dot right
after that so I got a nice little line
up with some tough ass dudes. I
love it though, It makes me want
to step it up each and every time.
I’m also hoping to battle at WD5
(World Domination5), and SM4
(Summer Madness 4), and I’d
like to take on Rex or Calico, but
mostly Rex. As far as my writing
there is no complacency for me,
I can’t slip up not one round, not
one bar, against one of those guys
you know. It’s a real challenge and
a lot of pressure on me to just
bring it. Again that’s why I do
this I love the challenge of it.
Novie Blendz: That’s awesome,
and my next question for you
is how do you feel about your
growth as a battler after each
opponent? Do you feel like that
type of growth is important?
Danny Myers: It’s definitely
important, because as a battler
were all not perfect. As nice as
someone is they will have some
things that they need to work
on. It may be their deliver, the
control of their breathing, their
penmanship, their crowd control
etc. I mean there are different
things that go into it, so I just
try to work on everything all
around. I have definitely noticed
my growth in each battle, I feel
more comfortable in the ring with
everything and I like it so I have
definitely have grown as a battler.
Novie Blendz: What would you
say has been your most intense
battle so far?
Danny Myers: I would say my
battle with D89 Gunna from
dope 16 battle league. That was
probably my toughest battle.
Also the battle between me and
Rum Nitty, that will be out in
December. Not only was that
battle with me and Rum Nitty one
of my toughest, it was also one of
the funnest battles too.
Novie Blendz: Why were those
two, particularly your toughest
battles?
Danny Myers: Well these were
guys that were on point lyrically,
like they did not come to play
with me. They were trying to kill
me, so it was tough. I felt like
they matched me with my bars
(not quite, like my bars lol) but
they were definitely up there. I
mean I still don’t feel like I’ve been
out barred yet! Not in any battle,
not by nobody, and that’s not to
sound cocky or anything but I just
honestly feel like I haven’t been
out barred yet. I don’t plan on it
anytime soon either.
Novie Blendz: Okay, Now I
watched your battle with Riggz,
how do you feel about him as an
opponent? How do you think
you did in that battle?
Danny Myers: That battle was fun
as hell! Prior to me battling Rum
Nitty, that battle was the funniest
battle I’ve had. It was a memorable
moment, and I definitely like Riggz he’s
my homeboy. So yeah it was a great battle.
