The Tube The tube or the London Underground is a symbol of London. It serves 1.37 billion people per year and 5 million per day. Built in 1863, London Underground was the first underground railway network in the world. The network’s total length is 402 km (that’s almost the same distance from Bangkok to Surin). Some of the tube stations are very old and they were once used as bombing shelters during the WW II. Some stations, on the other hands, look more modern. In the next decade, the London Underground will be carrying out huge construction works to build new railway lines and updating the train technology. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/about-tfl/what-we-do/london-underground/facts-and-figures
