An independent cyclist , would like to see Morgan Hill ’ s downtown reduce Monterey Road to one lane on each side , on a permanent basis . “ It would reduce traffic for cycling purposes and for all the restaurants with outside seating ,” he explains .
As the lanes stand now , he finds the greenpainted bike lanes confuse both drivers and cyclists . “ The city needs to make clear what the green lanes are for . They should mean , stay out of that lane if you see a cyclist .”

“ I want to keep the historic quaintness of the old town as much as possible .” He ’ s concerned about what he calls , “ the new hamster cage housing ” near downtown . Having moved from another small town , he says he ’ s seen what people do to them . “ I want to keep Morgan Hill a nice destination that people enjoy .”
