CONTENTS Editor's Note 3 From protecting the lake from invasives and pollution, to providing community events, the SLA is an invaluable asset to the Paradox and Schroon Lake communities. 4 7 The Schroon Lake Association has been advocating for Schroon Lake since 1911... You will find out more about the association and its rich history in one of the first articles, written by Mark Granger, President of the SLA. As I have learned while compiling this magazine, the SLA does so much more than many people realize. It is an organization worth joining, supporting, and volunteering for if we hope to preserve our lakes for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come. My hope is that you come to share this opinion as you read this edition of the magazine and are inspired to join, donate, and/or volunteer. Get involved! Every action, no matter how small, will support the SLA's mission to protect and maintain Schroon Lake. The printed edition of this magazine will focus on articles and stories written by the SLA's very own members. The online edition will include the above as well as useful reports on the state of the lake, invasive species, and other information that will be of interest to you. Please visit the SLA website at schroonlakeassociation.com to view the online edition.
