JJuly 11th EW WM Survey N North end off Clark Islan nd east shore-- Two GPS po oints were coollected in thiss llocation with h 50-75 EWM M plants locateed between th he points. Bothh points are llocated within n the buoy-lin ne and the northeast point is approximaately 100 m meters off thee east shore. W We finished up u the day jusst south of thee halfway point of Clark Issland and no aadditional plaants were foun nd. JJuly 25th EW WM Survey W WOL Boat Launch L to Ro ogers Brook-- We surveyed d from the bo athouse bbeach to the WOL W boat lau unch. Near Ro ogers Brook there t is a heavvy sand ddelta formatio on and the ou uter ring of thee delta had ro obust plant liffe and hheavily fouled. Two EWM M plants were found in 8ft of o water apprroximately 50 meters sou uth of Rogerss Brook and one EWM plan nt (highly disstressed) found approx ximately 25 meters m north of WOL boat launch l in 13ft ft of water. A Also want to note very heaavy boat activ vity from 8AM M to 10AM aat WOL. L Lockwood BayB From ourr observation, the littoral zone z of Lockw wood Bay iis 0-4ft deep. The water is heavily tanicc with line of sight being ar around 3-5ft m making it a difficult d area to o survey. Theere was a distiinct thermoclline bbetween 4-6fft and water teemperature att 6ft is 45-50 degrees d Fahreenheit. N No EWM plaants were obseerved in Lock kwood Bay. JJuly 26th EW WM Survey Skylark Beach Area North & South- At the GPS point p mapped is a log ppile with approximately 10 00 EWM plan nts. The EWM M plants are yyoung, t plants beiing 1-2ft tall aand the single stem plants with thee majority of the m max height arround 4ft. Scaattered EWM M plants were found from thhe GPS ppoint extending 100 meterrs north and lo ocated mainly y in 10ft of w water. T The area arou und Skylark Beach B has a very large litto oral zone that ends aaround 13ft deep d from ourr observation. The native plants p are diveerse aand robust in this area. A August 15th EWM E Surveey B Bay South off Edge Waterr – While surrveying the baay we found E EWM plants widely scatteered througho out the bay. Att the mapped GPS ppoint is appro oximately 25 EWM plants in 8-10ft of water w and from m oour observation, the EWM M plants are taall but distresssed. We also w want tto note that tw wo distinct naative milfoils were also fou und throughouut the bbay in more abundance. a So ome of the ob bserved nativees were tall p lants aas well. At th he time of thiss survey, theree was a consid derable pphytoplankton bloom. This bay is also home h to a verry large frienddly bbass that acco ompanied us during d our su urvey.
