‚ÄčJourneyDance is a therapeutic, healing art movement form. It's not about learning steps, but a natural healing form that aids in recovering, uncovering and discovering by incorporating dance, yoga movement and theatre exercise accompanied by inspiring world music creating what some have described as "a barefoot freestyle celebration of the human spirit". JourneyDance is suitable for all ages and abilities and no previous dance, yoga or theatre experience is required. Each JourneyDance is unique in that it is created for its participants. One of the goals of JourneyDance is for the dancer's mind to become clear, free and positive in conjunction with the body which becomes supple, energized and powerful all within a safe and secure environment. It is well established that physical movement may influence healing, change our bodies and affect emotional well-being. The JourneyDance flows from slowing down, letting go, feeling grounded, awakening the senses and loosening the spine followed by community dance, healing the heart and finally rest, rejuvenation, renewal, peace and bliss.
