C ity Adds Two More Motor Deputies The City's commitment to public safety was bolstered by the City Council's recent decision to add two motor deputies to enforce traffic, noisy vehicle, and speed limit laws. Credits will be applied to the Sheriff's contract to help offset costs of the new positions. Once the new contract is approved by the County of Orange, there will be six motor deputies patrolling Laguna Niguel to enhance enforcement efforts. C alling All Artists! "Word of the Month" Arts C ontest Launched to Showcase Talent in Laguna Niguel Join us in expressing your commitment to the arts and community spirit by participating in the citywide arts contest open to residents and students of schools serving Laguna Niguel. This free arts contest, introduced by Mayor Elaine Gennawey, encourages residents to develop a visual piece inspired by the "Word of the Month," which will be announced by Mayor Gennawey. One winner in each category will be recognized and presented with a certificate from the City Council. January's Word of the Month is NEW. Artists must submit an entry form and their piece of art by 4 p.m. before January 5, 2018. As a reminder, City Hall is closed on Monday, January 1 and Tuesday, January 2. Read the full Press Release.
