Agendas & Minutes Notify Me Contact Us Employment Register City Calendar NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS Tree Planting Plan Approved As part of the City’s ongoing beautification efforts, on Tuesday night, the City Council voted unanimously to approve plans to add 187 trees to median islands on Crown Valley Parkway and 93 trees to median islands on Niguel Road. Over time, the trees on these median islands have declined in population due to a number of factors, like vehicle damage, old age, disease and insect infestations. The trees to be planted will be placed in the current empty planters to replenish the trees. The proposed tree species are water efficient, disease and insect resistant, similar to existing trees and aesthetically pleasing in appearance. Update on Homeless Status On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, the City Council received an update from City Manager Kristine Ridge on the current status of homelessness. City Manager Ridge stated that at last count (2017), there were 4,792 homeless individuals in Orange County, with 2,584 living in unsheltered conditions.
