November 6, 2015 AGORA CITY COUNCIL SELECTS PLACEWORKS TO PREPARE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (EIR) The City Council on Tuesday night selected PlaceWorks to prepare the EIR for the AGORA mixed-use project. The decision came following the recommendation by city staff and the County of Orange to select the firm from among seven others that submitted proposals to conduct the study. PlaceWorks was awarded the agreement based on a number of factors including their extensive experience preparing EIRs for local mixed-use projects and their ability perform a majority of the necessary technical studies in-house. The environmental study will include a detailed traffic analysis to assess any potential traffic impacts. A Water Supply Assessment (WSA) will also be conducted by Moulton Niguel Water District to determine potential impacts on current and future water supplies. It is expected to take approximately eight months to complete the environmental analysis at a cost of approximately $280,000. The EIR and WSA will ultimately be funded by County of Orange UPCOMING EVENTS Nov. 9 Parks & Recreation Commission Mtg. Nov. 16 Military Support Committee Mtg. Nov. 10 Planning Commission Mtg.
