BA (Hons) Fashion Lookbook 2018 LR_REF_ONLY-FashionLookBook-FashionDesign_2

The award-winning BA (Hons) Fashion course at Ravensbourne offers a unique learning opportunity where essential tradi tional skills are applied to new and emerging technologies. All students leave as well-rounded designers specialising in menswear or womenswear with the skills necessary to compete in the fashion industry. From the outset, students work on industry-led project briefs, design competitions and live projects. In 2018, we were honoured to work on a design project for global denim group, VF Corporation encompassing Timberland, Wrangler, Lee and North Face. Students exhibited the results of the project at the Bargehouse, London and four were awarded prize-money to support their final collections. Another exciting project was an international live brief with one of Paris’s brightest talents, designer Haider Ackermann. The prize was a six-month internship to work on Ackermann’s current and future collections. Work placement is an integral part of the learning experience at Ravensbourne. Students typically secure internships at prestigious brands such as Givenchy, Viktor & Rolf, AF Vandervost, Haider Ackermann, Anne Demeulemeester, Mary Katrantzou, Craig Green, Peter Pilotto, Hussein Chalayan, Christopher Kane, Calvin Klein, among many world- leading brands. Our alumni continue to shine with Clare Waight Keller creative director at Givenchy and other past graduates heading teams at prestigious brands such as Oscar De La Renta, Reiss, Celine, Stella McCartney, Joseph, Burberry, Mulberry, Reiss, Max Mara, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, Ports1961, TopMan/TopShop, ASOS, Nike and ACNE. We hope you enjoy the collections produced by our 2018 graduates. Caroline Gilbey, MA (Hons) Edin, SFHEA Follow us on instagram: ravensbournefashion706 1 1
